Randall,
Short of a full cage and side air bags not much will protect you in a
sidescreen car in a bad wreck. Having said that, I once managed to get the
original Rosebud belly up and, aside from some asphalt on my helmet, came
through pretty well. The old "bolted to the frame outriggers, single roll
bar" and the "eye bolt through the frame rails seat belts" held real well. In
fact, we removed what was left of the w/s, added a quart of oil and finished
out the weekend.
