No no no Joe. I mean a big exposed whirling, cuts off your fingers if you
get too close, kind of fan.

I suppose a variable-pitch prop would satisfy the LBC need for many exposed
parts and possible death and dismemberment during normal operation.

No Fan, you say?  Take that big shroud off any Beetle engine and take a
look.  If that ain't a fan, what is it?
