I respectfully have to submit that any positive figure is probably
erroneous. The truth is that any minute I have taken to work on my Triumph
could equally have been spent doing many things that would have generated a
profit. Thus an accountant would put the lost revenue against the time spent
on the car and come up with the car having an enormous lost opportunity
cost. That being said, the reason I work on the car is to keep myself from
going banannas from all work all the time, or as a means of diverting my
attention from the daily problems that we all have to work our way through.

Consider that for every hour you get $0.01 in "revenue" from working on your
Triumph, you might well have had to put $100-$250 in marriage counselling or
couch therapy. Of course you could simply have skipped on the whole thing,
done nothing and just been miserable or stressed.

For me the TR is the best way to have a feeling of honest accomplishment
doing a project where I control the method and the timing and can be there
from start to finish. Of course finances dictate the pace, but then that's
called life.
