Hi Paul,
A late response as I've been on holiday, but I'm surprised to see no-one
else has publicly responded to this. Having owned in excess of 50 Triumphs, the
only Lucas problems I've suffered have been with the switchgear fitted to some
of the 1970s models. Sure, I've had items fail, but generally because they've
been worn out after 40+ years of use.

If you have the loom out of the car then it should be fairly easy to see
whether it's useable or not. Damage to the main harness should be quite
evident, but check the integrity of the end connectors as wires can fatigue
here - post TS60001 should have Lucar connectors according to my notes. Both of
the companies who supply looms to my company have the appropriate loom listed,
so even if they're a special order the lead time shouldn't be greater than 6
weeks. I don't doubt that a TR specialist will have them ready on the shelf.
Price would be under 150 pounds here in the UK,
    Cheers,
        Bill.
