I'd like to hear the "whole other story".

I plan to completely rebuild the rear suspension on my 4A this winter
including
re-bushing trailing arms, shocks, hubs, brakes etc. I will have the entire
rear
suspension, differential, drive shaft and rear wings removed as well as gas
tank
drained. My thought was that I could have a local welder install the
differential mount reinforcements from underneath with the rear of the car
elevated as much as needed. This seemed like a good time to do this. All
would
occur in my humble suburban garage.

For those who have done it, is this feasible? Is the local 'drive around'
welder
guy going to laugh at me or charge me a ridiculous amount?
