FWIW, I think my TR3A was built on the last day of pre-50001 production
(April 15, 1959). It has the 'bomb' or 'bullet nose' starter. Given
the other mods that had to go with this change (bell housing, tunnel,
dipstick, flywheel) I don't see them switching back and forth willy-nilly.
