TR4A Shift Boot

I bought an upper and lower shift boot that is listed for my 67 TR4A.  The 
upper boot doesn't fit in the hole correctly. It looks to me that this setup 
is for a TR4A that doesn't have the padded dash support.  I thought all 
TR4A's had a center dash support.
There is listed in the Moss catalog a GAITER, leather, w/upper boot 
(680-745).
Has anyone used this on there TR4A?  Does it just pop into the pop into the 
dash support hole?
