The SU tool kit also falls into the "That's so simple" category.  For
synchronization, it supplies two rods that get pushed into the carb pistons
in place of the dampers, and two pieces of wire to go in the top of the
rods.  You bend the wires until they align with the engine not running, then
start the engine and look to see if they still align (meaning the pistons
have risen the same distance).

Could probably do the same thing with some wooden dowels and steel "handy"
wire from HD ...
