I've had one in my 3 for a few years now. I sprung for it when my stock
started motor came apart leaving bits inside the bell housing.

The motor spins faster than stock while drawing less power from the
battery. The engine starts a lot quicker than before when cold. I feel
it is a worth while upgrade, a lot less apt to leave you sitting with a
drained battery and wishing you had parked on a hill.

They have their own built on relay so you remove your stock one (or
leave it for looks), run the batt. to starter cable down to the new one
and run the wire from the starter button farther down to the starter relay.

I would not willingly go back to a non-geared motor
