We are just in the process of putting together my 56 TR3 (TS11793) after it
sat for 35+ yrs in the garage in parts. It has been a total frame resto-
off. Since I took it apart myself I'm afraid there are many things I have
forgotten as I try and remember where all the parts go as my son (who I have
given the car to when I'm no longer ableJ) try and figure out where
everything goes. I labeled most things and took many pics but there are
still some things that I may need help with. I did order many $'s worth of
parts a long time ago from TRF and Moss so at least I/we are working with
hundreds of new parts.

Body parts on the whole are pretty easy to put back together but now we are
in the process of putting the parts back on the engine but a question came
up.

I look at the distributor and notice that the vacuum was intentionally
plugged. As I recall now there was never a vacuum advance tube ever coming
off the distributor when I bought the car in '75. What is the potential
significance of this and is it necessary to have that done correctly. The
car ran fine back then and the only reason I started the frame off was the
timing chain tensioner broke.

The other pretty simple question that I hesitate to ask however, there is a
ground cable attached to the engine on the exhaust side. Where on the body
is this attached. Sorry for the dumb question however want to get this
right.

Last thing, does anyone have any detailed pictures of the engine compartment
they could send me. I know this may be a PIA but if you can, that would be
invaluable.

Thanks so much

Harold Sawatsky
