The muffler you speak of is call a Super Trap. It is a straight through glass
pack (fiberglass) muffler (2" id) with replaceable and stackable plates on the
end. I run one on my 1964 MGB vintage racer on the street. I have no other
muffler, just a 2" exhaust pipe from the header to the rear axle where I have
the muffler. At the track I remove the Super Trap and replace it with a
length of 2" exhaust tubing and clamp it place. Best of both worlds. Without
the muffler and a straight through exhaust system I'm running about 97 db.
