After working on tire rules and available choices for CVAR, here are
some thoughts on the 60 series 15" tire question.

195/60-15 or 205/60-15 DOT choices:
Continental Contact (H rated)
Continental Sport Contact (V rated)
Michelin Pilot SX GT (V rated)
Pirelli P600 (V rated)
Pirelli P6000 (V and W rated)
Yokohama AVS Intermediate (V rated)

The AVS Intermediate has the largest range of choices including 13", 14"
and wider widths of 15". Very important - DOT tires should be shaved to
4/32" or 5/32" for racing.

Also, Yokohama has discontinued the A008 with one exception. The SCCA
signed a contract with Yokohama to produce the A008 in 185/60-13 and
205/60-13 sizes for Spec Racer Ford for the next three years. The A008
is legal with CVAR here in Texas. CVAR specifies 60 series treaded
tires where 60% of the tread width has full depth grooves formed at the
time of manufacture (no hand grooving). The A008 meets this
requirement. The SCCA Spec Racer Ford, Customer Service reps sell these
tires (see the SCCA.com web site). Also, Yokohama sells them through
their race service group, PSRG. Their phone number is:

Subject: Tires
We have a large group of Porsche 356 and 912 vintage racers looking for
DOT street legal racing tires in either 195/60/15 or 205/60/15 sizes.
Any suggestions for suitable race tires ?
