Make your best estimate, add $2000.00, and double it.

Subject: Operating Budget

Hello to the list:
I would like to ask a question regarding operating expenses. Assume for
the moment, that I am not going to do any mechanical work myself and I have
a sports racer powered by a pushrod motor (1600cc's). What should I expect
to pay annually? (assuming I run 6 races per year). I have a pretty good
idea what a rebuilt motor should cost and I hope to get 2 seasons out of a
motor. But I do not yet have a good feel for a standard operating budget.
Not including entry fees how much does it cost you to participate in a race
weekend? Namely, car preparation, routine maintenance, etc. all done at a
professional shop (west coast).

Thanks in advance.
