Clutch Master Cylinder: To rebuild or replace?

I have a 67' series V Alpine which had not been driven for 10-15 years
due to a bad motor. Well the motor is now functioning and after
replacing the clutch slave, I actually have put nearly 7 miles on this
beast (yes it is real noisy, the exhaust is shot ... but, who cares!)

Days later, I noticed that the clutch fluid had all leaked out and
that there were traces of fluid inside the fire wall.

The question now is to rebuild or replace the clutch master cylinder.
The slave is new (the old one was so badly pitted that it couldn't be
rehoned). I've been told that rebuilding is only about 50% successful
     - but I would like to do my own survey and not rely on a parts
salesman's word. Also, the slave was relatively cheap to replace ($27
or so), while the master cylinder is about $100.

     Regards,
