I can definitely vouch for the existence of the wire in my very late
Series V exactly as described by Armand (color, clips and extra covering),
and the lack of the wire in any book or wiring diagram I have. I removed
the resistor now that I have an electronic ignition. But, Kevin's
previous description seems correct for the stock connection.
