The four speeds originally used on pinto/mustangs have an integral shifter,
which could get in the way as far as using a stock tranny tunnel. I do not
believe that this was a borg warner trans though.

The mercury 2000,2300,2600 and 2800 cc capri used a 4 speed trans that used
an external shifter like on the tiger. This trans is somewhat more durable
than that of the pinto, which was originally built for european 1500 and
1600cc english fords. Perhaps this is the borg trans that you seek.

The capri was later (1978) no longer sold in the U.S., but was built in
germany and england for quite a few more years.

Available for the later V6 capri was a 5 speed transmision, that is mostly a
drop in.
It used the same clutch components as the earlier cars.
The 5 speed used in later overseas capris is not a T-5, and is slightly
smaller, and would likely fit with fewer chassis mods than would a T-5.
