Sergio,
glad to be of service. In my long endeavor to restore my '67 SV
Smitty has been a tremendous help to me. He has a vast wealth of
knowledge concerning Alpines and all of the tools necessary to work on
them. His prices are reasonable and on the weekends he lets people
come in and use his shop to work on their cars. You get his expertise
and the use of some specialized tools for a nominal fee. I have spent
entire weekends in San Diego utilizing his hot tank, blasting cabinet,
painting equipment, and all sorts of tools. The best part is that
Smitty is right there to guide me and make sure I don't break anything.
I never could have rebuilt my brake booster with out him. He also has
a large store of used parts.
BTW, I found a guy in New England (George Frechette) through Hemmings
(under Services-brakes) who does quality resleeving work with stainless
steel. He resleeved my clutch master for $40 and my brake booster for
$100. I found the booster particularly reasonable since it has five
stepped bores. Mine was the first he'd ever done and it turned out
great. If anyone is interested I'd be happy to forward his phone
number.
