It is generally proven that the biggest single loss of collector cars is
through the enthusiastic dismantling of them for "restoration". Once the
enthusiasm for dismantling passes, the awesome task of re-building and
assembly begins to pall.

Get the car running. Keep it running and fix a certain, manageable part of
it as funds and time become available. As to criticism, ignore it. Not
everyone has a Sunbeam. Mind you, not everyone wants a Sunbeam.
