re: Overheating

There has been a lot of discussion re overheating. I live in S CA and
have not had a serious problem in 10 years. I use a standard radiator
(well flushed) and a strange plastic fan with about 10 blades. The
blades are almost at right angles to the normal air flow, but are
supposed to straighten out at speed ?!!?

I had to do quite a lot of cutting and drilling of the fan to get it to
fit.

And no oil cooler as the 1725 engine is fitted in a Series IV. Use the
160 thermostat.

Dont knowe how I survived but it seems that there are some that do and
some that dont. Does it have anything to do with the condition of the
radiator?
