On my Series II, the switch does not appear to be removable.

The switch uses the notches "detents" in the control to close
the contacts.

It seems to be part of the cable slider assembly, but is does look as
though one could fabricate a micro switch with some creative bracketry.

It looks like the factory did this to us, not lucas.

Since it does not look like a lucas part, exact repacement seems
unlikley.
