Steve,

i think you should ground the Speedo.

The ammeter is/should be Lucas

The ignition light problem will probably be due to a fault in the charging
light simulator circuit which they created when they put in the alternator,
check the wiring diagram on the alpine page.

The indicator warning light seems as though perhaps the earth or power has
been somehow hooked into the headlamp switch, and should be rectified when
you find out exactly what's there. With wiring I just try to follow the
wires, with my car they're all doing what they're supposed to now, but the
path they follow isn't correct for originality.
