that works out at about 1.6 to 1.8 mm :- my suppliers stock by metric thickness.
I think that 1.6mm translates as 16 gauge (British SWG standard wire gauge)
Local motor factors stock generic "chassis" sections etc. in 18 swg, and
recommended this gauge,
but it seems too thin to me.
Don't know ifthe American gauge system is the same as UK's???
20 *swg* would be too thin for chassis, 'A' posts, etc
e.g. I'm sure central sill section on Alpine/Tigger is 14 swg
anybody got some definitive figures?
