I believe that I purchased period looking 3 point safety belts from either
Moss Motors or Victoria British. I did not get the retractable types as I
was trying to keep everything lookin period, but in retrospect, I think
that the retractable version would be a lot more convenient. On my series
II car, there were bolts on the wheel arch behind the back seats. These
had rusted to the capture nut that were welded inside the wheel wells. I
had to drill out the bolts and tap out the nuts to install the safety
harnesses. It wasn't too difficult, about 10 (root) beers. It was hot
that day.
