Lance,
the input from the distributor to the tach is the metal spade. The
other connection is an inductive lead that connects to the ignition
switch, on a SV, anyway. That lead has a wire (white) that wraps
around a piece of plastic that holds down a metal conductor that is
sort of "U" shaped. I am not sure what the "threaded stud" is. On my
SV tach there is only the spade terminal and the inductive lead, which
screws into something metal that I suppose could be called a stud, but
it is mostly plastic. I am unsure as to what function it performs
other than to give it power maybe. Hope this helps.
