A question regarding anti-freeze/coolant

It has been oft mentioned on the list that incorrect/bad anti-freeze can
lead to a host of ills, with extensive internal aluminum head corrosion
being the most feared outcome. Wanting to prevent this, I had
completely flushed the cooling system. However, due to some leaks that
have been resolved, I have lost track of the exact water to anti-freeze
ratio in the system. Is the proper balance what is important, is the
particular brand/type of anti-freeze what is important, or is it enougf
just to be sure that there is plenty of coolant?
