Gasoline in the oil

My fuel pump gave out yesterday and in checking the oil it appears the level has risen and it smells slightly of gasoline. It appears that when the pump gave out I got gas in the oil? I intend to change the oil and filter after the pump is fixed (I may install an electric fuel pum). I am contemplating running it for about a 100 miles or so and changine the oil again. Is this overkill or should I be doing something more? -Patrick Richmond, CA, SV
