I have put over 60,000 trouble free miles on my v6 conversion (2.8 Ford/C4
Auto/2.88 Tiger Rear). From San Diego to Wisconsin (SUNI III 1st Place
Modified Alpine), 2 cross country trips to Georgia for Training...including
one towing my Harley Sportster behind - See my car in front of DisneyWorld
in Fla on the cover of TigerTales Jan 1997). I did not have the original
engine and trans for this car....but I can tell you that the swap can be
done without butchering the car!...That means you can save all the original
stuff and do the swap.....and really enjoy. On the trips I got 24 mpg and
now driving 70 miles round trip to the border cruising at 80-85 I still get
20mpg on regular gas.I love my swap...I wouldn't have it any other way and
am getting ready to perform another swap on a 64 automatic. Plans are for a
4.0 V6 from a Ranger or Explorer with the AOD automatic but I am very
carefully considering a Chrysler (mitsubishi) 3.0 SOHC and auto from a
Mitsubishi Montero or even a newer Chrysler 3.2 or 3.5 w/up to 235 hp stock.
What ever you decide...its your car..cars are made to be driven so make it
the way you want to drive it! My 3 Cents (Sorry I got carried away...) Bob

Photos and swap info available if interested.... Welcome to the group!
