How are people back flushing their radiators? Since the heater core
cannot handle much pressure, I have simply opened the petcock and drained
the fluid while running the motor and adding water from the top. Is there
a way of really flushing the system hard without blowing up the heater
core? I doubt if I can get my casting sand out of the motor without
chiseling it out. A friend of mine says it is like concrete. I assume
that I have this problem, because when I turn the motor off, I hear the
water boil for about 15 seconds. This makes be believe that I have a part
of the motor that is really hot and not being cooled (like the casting
sand behind #4 cylinder).
Question #2: My Zenith WIA carbs always seem to seep some gas. I
have tried gluing the top covers in place. I have wrapped the accelerator
pumps shafts with teflon to stop leaks there. I wonder if some of the
seepage is through the vent hole during hard driving? Anyone having this
problem and devised a cure?
