The clamps you describe sound like the same ones that are on my bows. The
webbing should continue to the front rail. There are similar clamps for
attaching the webbing to the front rail, except they go on top of the rail.
Two of mine were missing so I had to make up my own. The clamps for the
second of the two bows were flat rectangular shaped ones.
