On mine there is a mounting plate approximately 1/4" thick and is bolted to the
wheel well.

If I rememeber when you were up here a couple of years ago, Tony, Rex , Dick and
I , I think we all agreed that someone had changed your set up.

On my series ll 63' the connecting rod IS parallel and I think ya got shorted on
the sterring box. Maybe it is a different box that makes the connector rod "out".
