Sometimes what has to be done is generally not a "sound measure". I have
found that the easiest way to get that thing off is to stick a very long
socket extension through the hole that is provided to crank the engine over
should you ever depend on a AC-Delco battery. Putting a socket down through
the top (1 5/16 I think), use an air tool (of which I can't for the life of
remember what it is called other than an "Air hammer") Hook the mess up,
take up all of the lash, and give it a BBBRRRRPPP. It generally comes off
very easily. You must take up the lash, or the thing will just make noise
and give you a headache. And you can't use more than one extension because
it will just chatter. Lou
