Gordon et al.,

What the Sharp book neglects to mention is that if you cut the front bump stops
to the measurement shown your new bump stop will be the side rods hitting the
frame and slowly becoming U-shaped. Most likely the frame was notched on the 
race
cars to provide clearance.
