Assuming the Dist. is correctly installed, set the "notched" scale in the
center and adjust timing using the inverted bolt. Then, you can adjust using
the scale for adjustments in case of bad gas (pinging) or altitude, even if
you're out on the road with no timing equipment handy, and get it back to
the previous adjustment.
