A simple tool that will help diagnose the problem is a....
vacuum gauge. In today's fancy world of electronic test
equipment, the simple vacuum guage is often overlooked.

Just wondering how old is you exhaust system? Rust
does form inside the pipes, and will flake off. I
have had the fun of a car that ran great "until getting
under load at the freeway speed, then would slow down".

Just one thought, among many, of things to look at.
