A couple things that harried me in the situation were as follows:

1. Loose debris in the stock fuel tank that would float over and close off
the exit pipe. (found to be a piece of paper some FRIEND had thrown into my
tank)

2. The ground strap between the engine and the chassis being loose and
making a disconnect whena torques over on a long left hander. ( generally
this gave a severe misfire but indeed would also cut out completely)
