I appreciate the opinion, Justin. I spun another bearing at the end of this
season, and am not sure what is causing it. I recently added an accusump,
which should help rather than hurt. Kas's book says to have 0.011" taken off
of the crank rather than 0.010". I assume that he is subtracting 0.011" from
the upper specified value. Maybe I can find another machine shop that can
better polish the standard dimensions for clearance, and that I better find
more time for taking my own micrometer readings.
Maybe I also should take out the shroud that I added to the oil pan. It is
hard to tell what exact effect these added innovations have.
