Dave, I'm sure it is my negative feedback to which you referred. I have
come to believe that bigger isn't better. Groups 1 and 3 each had over 80
cars on the grid. You couldn't get a good lap in practice if you had to,
while driving anywhere within the bounds of the rules of vintage.

The downtown venue is a real hoot. I have enjoyed it every time I have done
it. It is the racing highlight of the year for my wife who gets to ride
along. Yes, we were sorely disappointed that we were not one of the chosen
few to get to go. That had never been an issue in the past.

As far as numbers, the only entry list I can easily put my hands on was
from 2000. Representing Triumph, we had 7 Spitfires, 2 TR4's, 3 TR3's, 1
GT6 and the Thunderbolt. For the MG's, 3 Midgets, 8 MGA's, 5 T Series, 4
MGB's. That seems pretty typical, you have to remember the 2004 event was
anything but.

Yes, I am planning on going back this year, because I want to see and race
with my friends. I am sure the numbers will be more like years past. The
2004 event was MG's year in the spotlight. This year, it's Alfa Romeo's
turn to take the spotlight, and according to a June 6 press release, they
are expecting 50+ cars. I am sure a bunch of them will end up in Group 3.
Could be a blast, could be a repeat of '04. We will see!!!

I have yet to see a schedule, but I am really hoping SVRA does not find it
necessary to stretch out the schedule to 4 days again. One session
Thursday, one on Friday, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. I have my
doubts, as the dates on the SVRA website are September 8 to 11.

Cheers
