Mark:

The factory specs have to be around somewhere. I'm a firm believer in
sticking close to the original weights, then building the heck out of
the vehicle to give some safety edge.

I'd love to get my hands on another 65-67 Country Sedan or Squire, slam
it and do some interesting custom work to fit in with the hot rod crowd.
That's what I cut my driving teeth on as a kid, not to mention what
occurred in the back on dates.

I drove the wheels off mine, using it as the support vehicle when I got
into Pro Rally. The coil spring rear suspension does not like tongue
weight, so you had to run air shocks to keep it level.

On the whole, not a really great tow vehicle as the brakes and
suspension were designed for comfortable family use, rather than pulling
heavy loads safely.

I installed disc brakes from an LTD on mine, but even so braking was not
a strong point.

So what do you think might be the towing capacity of a 1967 Ford Country
Squire station wagon with the 390 cubic inch motor?
