I have a great friend that is thinking about building a TR3 to run at
Bonneville. Does anyone have any idea what the speed record is for a
TR3? Stock and modified?
Bill owns three really nice TR-3's, a Lotus Elan with a Cosworth BDA
(I think that's the motor in it - the rare one that costs like $20k
by it's self) and Concours winning Alfa Spyder and a Lancia Scorpion.
Bill has raced SCCA since at least sometime in the 70's and has a
donor car for a Bonniville project that he is willing to spend some
coin mount a challenge.
Bill is also posted this want ad on our clubs forum:
"I need to buy a rebuildable cylinder head for either a TR-3A or TR-
4. I need a high port head or will buy a whole motor if
available. Need ASAP. Bill Close (602)524-5351"
