I think it was GM Kieth.
Chrysler came out with a semi auto, the M-6. A 4 speed box (although
very few owners knew that there were two speeds in low.) behind a fluid
coupling. Getting second gear in low range took patience, wind it up in low
just short of sticking the rods out then lift and wait for the engine to 
slow almost to an idle and suddenly, clunk -- second gear. If you were going 
up a steep hill the car would slow as fast as the motor and no shift. The one 
I drove was in a Dodge convert with a L head six. My '55 VW would blow the
doors off of it. Oh yea, the Dodge had wood trim on the outside. My neighbors
other car was an MG TD. He'd spend just about every Saturday morning "tuning"
the MG before going for a ride.
