Gary.... my problem with this is WHY NOT?

Okay it's in the Rule book.... But why is it in the rule book... I thought
we were racing cars... and searching for the outer limits of our classes...

I guess someone is going to tell me that Traction control is a Safety
issue.. that is the single reason I can come up with.... I don't find it to
be accurate... but it was the ending reason last time we had this
discussion...

Unless I misunderstand the concept of Bonneville... entirely... which I'm
finding to be the case.... it's about Going as fast as you can within a
certain set of rules... Yes it happens to be an amateur organization...
and all volunteer which we all applaud.... BUT... does that change the
focus?... does that mean we have to artificially limit the speed of the
cars to XXX.... because we are not professional racers? I'm totally lost
on that... Are we going to see restrictor plates Next?

Why can't we have traction control on our cars? Someone tell me... is it
because it doesn't work?.... is it because we are testing Drivers??? ( now
that is Silly ) This is about Man... AND MACHINE....

Everyone here on this list and who show's up in the pits at Bonneville has
their own perspective on the place.... to each of us it means something a
bit different... For me personally it's almost a religious experience to
race at a place where all my hero's have been... to be part of the quest
for speed... to be a small part of the History of the Bonneville salt
flats.... I feel privileged to have the honor of racing there.... Some day
I'll put my name in the record books... But even if I never accomplished
that.... I feel like I'm part of it... what more could I ask for in life...

Keith ( this is where we can have disagreements on the HOW's with dignity )
