How much weight are you towing, Mayf? Check the tire load rating to see if you are on the hairy edge or their ratings. My last trailer tires were purchased at Costco; they are Greenball tires but not on the race car trailer. They are on our MaxxLite 25' travel trailer.

Subject: [Land-speed] Tires for my Trailer

Well, since the day I acquired my trailer, it has had Maxxis tires on
it. Every year to and fro the salt I have had to replace at least one
tire due to tread separation and the shoulder of the tire. last time up
it was two tires. I am unhappy with Maxxis. I am unhappy with trailer
tires period. I am looking for the wisdom of the list to help me find
something better. I have 225 75R15 Load Range D tires on the trailer
now. I want to move up to a load range E tire and one that is used on
light trucks (ok, pickups, lol). I want a speed rated tire as well as
the LR E capability. I have been known to tow a few mph over teh trailer
tire maker's recommendation (65 mph in the Maxxis case). I have looked
on Tire rack, Discount Tire, and just about everybody else who sells
tires. So, is there anybody out there who is running a LT tire Load
Range E with at least a speed rating of Q, that fits a 15 inch wheel?
Or at worst a 16 inch wheel but under 30 inches in diameter? Or 30 plus
inches but with a lower aspect ratio, i.e. maybe a 70 or 65
designation? I really want better tires than the run of the mill
trailer tires.

Any help out there? What are all of you running and experience? Lemme
know...

mayf
