Just after checking this, I was reading the current Mac World, which lists
the following IRC software for teh Mac:
Netscape Chat - freeware http://home.netscape.com
Global Chat - freeware http://www.globalchat.com
Homer - shareware http://www.blue-cow.com
(the last has "a somewhat funky interface" )
