        As I recall, the slight increase in pressure provided
by braided brake hoses is desireable for racing/autocrossing,
and to this end is what they are used for, for the most part.

hose provides, as compared to a standard hose, is relatively 
insignificant for daily applications.  

        Then again, I don't have first hand experience with braided
hoses.
