My buddy, Tom wilson, drove his 1970 mgb to South Bend In and back to
Yakima Washington each summer and christmas  vacation while he was in
college. He never had any trouble he
couldn't handle. Of course, the major problems were with the electrical
system during the winter.
He didn't carry anything unusual that I remember.
