Trevor, sounds suspiciously like a seat buzzer - these were installed
in the seat cushions, connected to the wiring through the carpet
and made an horrific din if you dont couple your seatbelt or leave the
door open!!! - a MUST to disconnect! 
Theses were only fitted to later Bs, 73 and newer so you dont need it for
authenticity on a 70.(phew)
