  Well, my engine seems to have given up the
ghost. I now have fog-machine available just by dipping
the throttle.

  Combine that with compression figures of 120/80/20/105 and
I say "bad". Oiled figures were very similar.

  As soon as I can figure out how to make the adapter, I'll
try a leakdown test, but I suspect it's major.

  Failing a cheap B engine landing in my lap, an engine swap
seems like a fun project to replace it. I have looked into
the V8 conversion but the parts seem fairly expensive on
this side of the pond.

  A 2.8L GM V6 swap seems to be a somewhat common occurance,
at least one local clubber has that engine although I haven't
seen the car.

  Any ideas? Tips? References? The V8 would be nice because
of the british heritage, but the V6 has ample performance and
there are a lot more of them in north american junkyards.
