Regardless of what you do:  Unless you're planning on building a car
specifically for show, I would highly recommend a good undercoater that uses
a non-solidifying formula (Ziebart has really good stuff).  I've had mine
done, and I'm really happy with the results.  It's a nice, smooth shiny
black, it is an excellent protectant, it doesn't hold dust, and when they
re-apply it (have this done once a year if you're finicky), they steam the
underside of the car to remove the old material before applying new.  Nice.
