assent; ratification; confirmation. Mostly in legal use.
homologate: to express agreement with or approval of; to assent to,
acknowledge; to countenance; to ratify, confirm.
and several other definitions of a like.
Now, given Mr. Farreras's query, maybe he needs some kind of official
verification that his MGB-GT V8 is pre '76 so he can enter that historic
race.
