I can't speak for any other country, but I can say for sure that the smog
gear was NEVER painted in the USA from the factory. The air rail and gulp
valve were Cadmium plated and the airpump was bare alluminum with the
black plastic left black. This is what I had thought all along and I just
made a few calls to verify it.
